This policy applies to all orders placed through www.akostikclothing.com and is designed to comply with applicable consumer protection laws, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations in the United States, the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the Canadian Consumer Protection Act.

1. Return Eligibility

To qualify for a return, your request must meet all of the following conditions:

You have 14 days from the date your order is delivered to request a return. Requests submitted after 14 days will not be accepted, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.

The delivery date is determined by the tracking information provided by our courier. If you have not received tracking information, contact us at returns@akostikclothing.com.

1.2 Item Condition Requirements

All returned items must meet the following conditions at the time they are received by us:

  • Unworn and unused — the item must not have been worn, washed, or altered in any way
  • Original tags attached — all manufacturer and Akostik Clothing tags must be intact and attached
  • Original packaging intact — items must be returned in the original packaging in which they were received

We reserve the right to refuse a return or reduce the refund amount if an item is returned in a condition that does not meet the above requirements. Items that show signs of wear, damage, alteration, or missing tags will not be accepted.

2. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable under any circumstances, except in cases of manufacturing defect or incorrect item delivery:

  • Sale and discounted items — any item purchased at a reduced or promotional price, including items bought using discount codes
  • Custom and tailored orders — any item that has been made to measure, customised, or altered to your specific requirements
  • Accessories — including but not limited to ties, pocket squares, hats, cufflinks, and belts
  • Items marked as final sale at the time of purchase

3. Refund Options

Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome. If your return is approved, you may choose from the following options:

3.1 Refund to Original Payment Method

A full refund will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout (Stripe, PayPal, or credit/debit card). Please allow up to 14 business days from the date we confirm your return approval for the refund to appear in your account. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.

3.2 Store Credit

You may opt to receive store credit equal to the value of the returned item. Store credit is issued as a gift voucher code to your registered email address and can be applied to any future purchase on www.akostikclothing.com. Store credit does not expire.

3.3 Exchange

You may request an exchange for a different size or a different item of equal or lesser value. If the replacement item is of greater value, you will be required to pay the difference before the exchange is processed. Exchanges are subject to stock availability at the time of the request.

Note: Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to a defective or incorrect item dispatched by Akostik Clothing.

4. Return Shipping Costs

Who is responsible for return shipping costs depends on the reason for the return:

4.1 Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your item arrives defective, damaged in transit, or is not the item you ordered, Akostik Clothing will cover the full cost of return shipping. We will provide a prepaid return shipping label via email once your return request has been reviewed and approved.

  • We will issue a prepaid return label within 3 business days of verification

4.2 Change of Mind Returns

If you are returning an item because you changed your mind, no longer want it, or ordered the wrong size, the cost of return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

  • You may use any courier of your choice for change-of-mind returns
  • We recommend using a tracked shipping service — Akostik Clothing is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit on their way back to us
  • Return shipping costs are non-refundable

5. How to Initiate a Return

All return requests must be submitted by email. We do not accept unsolicited returns — items sent back without prior approval will not be processed and may be returned to sender at the customer’s cost.

Step-by-Step Return Process

  1. Email us at returns@akostikclothing.com within 14 days of receiving your order.
  2. Include your full name, order number, the item(s) you wish to return, the reason for the return, and photographs if the item is defective or damaged.
  3. Our team will review your request and respond within 3 business days with either an approval, a prepaid label (if applicable), or a request for further information.
  4. Once approved, package the item securely in its original packaging and ship it to the address provided in our return approval email.

6. Faulty or Damaged Items

If your item arrives with a manufacturing defect or is damaged in transit, we sincerely apologise. Please follow the steps below:

  • Contact us at returns@akostikclothing.com within 14 days of delivery
  • Include your order number, a description of the fault or damage, and at least two clear photographs clearly showing the issue
  • Our quality team will review your claim within 3 business days

 

Upon verification of the fault or damage, we will issue store credit to the full value of the affected item. Store credit will be sent as a voucher code to your registered email address and can be used immediately on any purchase at www.akostikclothing.com.

We do not offer cash refunds or direct replacements for faulty items at this time. If you have concerns about this, please contact us directly at customer@akostikclothing.com and we will do our best to assist.

7. Order Cancellations

You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it, provided it has not yet been dispatched.

How to Cancel

  • Email customer@akostikclothing.com immediately with your order number and full name in the subject line
  • Include the words ‘ORDER CANCELLATION’ in your email subject for priority handling
  • Cancellation requests submitted after 24 hours or after dispatch cannot be processed

Cancellation Refunds

If your cancellation request is approved before dispatch, a full refund will be issued to your original payment method within 14 business days. If your order has already been dispatched at the time of your request, you will need to follow the standard returns process once the item is delivered.

8. International Returns

Akostik Clothing ships to selected countries worldwide. International customers are welcome to return eligible items subject to the same conditions outlined in this policy.

  • International return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer for change-of-mind returns
  • For defective or incorrect items, we will provide a prepaid return label where our courier network permits — contact us to confirm availability in your country
  • We recommend using a tracked and insured international shipping service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit
  • Any customs duties, taxes, or import fees incurred on returned items are the responsibility of the customer
  • Please mark your return parcel clearly as ‘RETURNED GOODS’ on all customs documentation to avoid additional charges

9. Your Statutory Consumer Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law. Depending on your country of residence, you may have additional rights that supersede the terms of this policy.

EU and UK Customers

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving any reason (the ‘cooling-off period’). To exercise this right, notify us at returns@akostikclothing.com before the 14-day period expires. Refunds are issued within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods.

California Customers

Under California consumer protection law, you have the right to receive a full refund for defective products. Our faulty item policy (Section 6) may differ from California statutory requirements — in such cases, California law takes precedence.

Canadian Customers

Canadian consumers are protected under the Consumer Protection Act of their respective province. Where our policy is less favourable than your provincial statutory rights, your statutory rights apply.
